We
were very excited to restore this doll
and see her in one of the most gorgeous
dresses Lois with Toni Wear has
made for us. I am thinking this
is taffeta. She knows I am not
good with naming materials. She
also provides the shoes now for us and
the socks. Lois to us is the
best and has many years of experience
with replica clothing over the
years. The very top of this
dress is beautifully lined and the
buttons are perfect. Absolutely
beautiful workmanship.
Please
expect to see through the summer more
dresses from Lois like this one.
We love polka dots as that is easily
determined by looking at our large web
site. This dress grabbed our
hearts. We will have a variety
of colors in the future like this as
Lois has already taken our large order
for more of these dresses in different
colors.
Her
hair has been cut by a child but we
salvaged it anyway because that little
indication that a child once thought
this doll to be a live pretend
character adds a warmth to the dolls
that I have come to recognize over
time. Her face is beautiful and we
sanded her body to bring out the look
of softness in the plastic surface.
Dr. Hubby took her walking mechanism
apart, repaired it and she walks like
a dream. All you need to do is
simply hold her hand or wrist.
Her head is pose able as we leave a
tiny bit of slack when we can for
those adorable poses.
She
has been cleaned inside and out and
all new surgical elastic cord
stringing. Her eyes have been
repaired and polished and they move
from side to side as she is leaned and
they open and close very easily.
We took a great deal of time and was
very detailed in installing our
preventative platforms to prevent
rolling, sinking and crossing of the
eyes. These dolls are mainly
restored for display so she should
never be dropped anyway nor played
with roughly. She clearly resembles a
"Like-New" 57 year old doll.
She
does cry and more of a squeaking cry
but if the Saucy Walkers make any
noise at all, we consider that a
miracle. Her squeaking is rather
a cute sound and makes me laugh
actually.
If
you feel you missed out on this doll,
we will have more but none of our
Saucy Walkers look exactly alike so
each one can be expected to have that
little difference in appearance of
their very own.
