This Beautiful Saucy
Walker is nearly all original.
We have not painted her face at all,
nor her body in our restoration except
for knee blushing and on her
hands.. We have sealed three
small seam cracks from the inside of
her torso with plastic compound and
they are stronger now than before. She
has an original Ideal Toy Corp. Saucy
Walker dress that is excellent.
Our seamstress, Lois, has replaced the
elastic in the sleeves. She has
original Ideal Toy Corp. vinyl molded
bow white shoes. Her hair has
not been cut by a child and is very
thick and in wonderful
condition. Her original full eye
lashes are longer than most Saucy
Walker Dolls.
We have repaired her
eyes and polished them. We have also
installed our preventative platforms
to prevent rolling eyes as so many 57
year old Saucy Walkers are known to
have these days. Once she leaves
our shop and us not knowing who will
be handling her or if she has been
thrown around we do not guarantee the
eye installations. We have
dropped two dolls in the past and the
eyes suffered no harm. We were
pleased with our invention. Her eyes
move from side to side as she is
leaned and designed to do. Her eyes
also will shut as shown in the photo
above, however when you stand her
upright after her eyes have been shut
the left eye socket has a tendency to
show a tiny amount of eye lid.
To change this lift her up and lightly
tap her feet straight down on a table
or hard surface or tap under her feet
with your hand. The original weight on
her eyes we noticed was lighter than
other Saucy Eyes have and we feel that
this could be the problem. We
get them ready for display and we have
never seen one in display yet that is
asleep. giggle
Her crier does not work
and we do not replace them. The
criers these dolls have had amazing
technology and belong in a
museum. To take a SW crier out
and replace it would mean splitting
her torso apart. We have done
that before but do not recommend it
because of the cure to bring her back
to like-new takes a very long time.
Her face has not been
painted and we have lightly sanded the
age off of her body surface and it
makes the plastic actually look
softer. Her walking mechanism has been
taken completely apart twice and she
is a perfect walker. Dr. Hubby does a
wonderful job with the walking
mechanism in our Saucy Walkers.
She has been strung
with our Elastic cord tubing and we
have made her head more poseable than
some. The neck plates on Saucy Walkers
can be warped on the torso and we have
put a better one on this doll.
If you want her to look forward with
her head straight then all you have to
do on most of the Saucy Walkers made
after the year 1951 is to gently push
their chins down toward the neck until
you hear or feel it click under the neck plate.
She comes with the
adorable replica sundress with
attached panties made by our
seamstress Lois at Toni Wear
who does excellent work. She comes
also with an Ideal Toy Corp. original
SW dress with the pinwheel buttons.
Lois replaced the elastic and the
dress is in excellent condition for
it's age. Her original shoes are
from IDEAL and they are white vinyl
with the molded bows. Her socks
are replacement and her Onesie, also
sewn by Lois. Her little yellow Mary
Jane shoes and lace socks with the
yellow ribbons also come with
her. She will also come to you
with a new Kaiser doll stand, new
yellow jointed toy bear, and her
double sided white satin hair ribbons
and replica hang tag.
Feel free to contact
us about her and God Bless.
