What a charming Early
Issue Saucy Walker. It is rare
to find one this clean and when we do,
we enjoy making her even more perfect
for display. Their heads are
attached with a metal rod so one does
not need to worry about the head
coming off on this one. I am
always amazed with their bodies
because of the satin color that they
have. We
decided to Air Brush her torso, arms,
and legs with our special blended
satin Saucy Walker paint blended
especially for this age doll. She had
a tiny shoulder crack and Dr. Hubby
took care of that very well. He also
blushed her knees and added a bit more
blushing to her cheeks. The eye
shadow is original and the lips and of
course the eyebrows are all original.
Her dress is an
extremely close replica of the dresses
these dolls were sold in. It was
made by Lois at: Toni Wear
and we feel there is no better
than her for creating our replica
dresses. The dress has
anattached slip as most Saucy Walker
Dresses from Ideal had. Although
this Early Issue mostly came in
panties to start off the line of dolls
in 1951, we have added a replica
Onesie, also made by Lois.
The shoes were custom
made by Michele with This Old Doll.
I do not know of another online, as a
result of my searching, that can make
shoes as perfectly as Michele. They
are leather and are a close resemblance
of the earlier Ideal Saucy Walker
Dolls. They also came with shoes
that tied and she has made those for
us as well.
Her eyes have been
repaired and polished and move from
side to side as you lean her. We
have installed platforms in her head
to prevent the eyes from rolling or
sinking. Once the doll leaves
the shop here, we are not responsible
for that claim as we will have no way
of knowing how she will be handled and
if she will be dropped or not. We have
dropped a few on their heads long ago
and the eyes suffered no harm.
She walks like a brand
new doll (Dr. Hubby always makes them
like new.) and her arms are very tight
with our elastic cord tubing and you
merely hold her hand to walk her.
Lean her from side to side to walk her
as she was designed that way.
Her head turns with every step.
Feel free to contact
us about her and God Bless.
