What an adorable little
22" Saucy Walker by Ideal Toy
Corporation to have restored back to
"Like-New"!! If you will
notice, her little original dress still
has the original elastic in the sleeves.
We did not have to replace them. No
rips or seam splits that we could find and
bright colors as we cleaned the dress and
pressed it. Her original socks has
no holes and her Ideal shoes are in good
condition. We kept her almost
entirely original except for the eye
shadow and blushing only on her hands and
knees. Her face blushing is
original. It looks almost as though
the shadow is too dark, but actually that
is not the case, our camera always makes
shadow and blushing look darker than it
really is in the real. Her original
lashes are gorgeous.
Her walking mechanism has
been completely taken apart and restored
as only Dr. Hubby can do in precision that
most do not do when repairing these dolls.
I actually watched him today with my mouth
open in amazement as he operated on a doll
we have here for repair. He thinks
of all the tiny details on these dolls.
I must say that I am blessed to have this
man here that is such a perfectionist. She
is a perfect walking doll.
Her body is soft looking because of his
light sanding of her plastic. We
show you the two seams that have been
sealed stronger than any seams she has now
as he puts new plastic compound on the
inside of her. We chose to not Air Brush
her because of her being so original.
Her hair as you can see has
her original shine and braids from what we
can see. Her hair is clean and
smells good. Her bangs were cut by a
child and this is the way so many of them
come to us with. We think they look
great. We chose to attach the yellow bows
at the top of her braid as I have seen in
an original 50'd photo that is the way
Ideal did so many of their dolls.
The bows are made from party ribbon
because that was the color we had close to
the ric rac on her dress and they are
stiffened for display for many years.
We have included the extra white double
sided satin bows that you see in the top
photos. We attached tiny little doll brown
bobbie pins to those white bows for you to
place them anywhere. They too are
stiffened for display.
Her eyes have been repaired
and easily slide from side to side as you
lean her. Many think the eyes should
slide from side to side when her head
turns but that is not the way she was
designed. The leaning motion causes
the eyes to move from side to side.
We polished them and also, as always,
added our little platforms inside her head
to help prevent any rolling and sinking of
the eyes as these Saucy Walkers are so
famous in doing so. (Just don't drop
her on her head on concrete or a hard
surface, however from our own experience
long ago we did that and the dolls eyes
were still perfect but I do not suggest
that you give it a try.)
She
is beautiful in the photos and in the real
and very worth any consideration.
Thank you for your interest and God Bless!
