Wow, such a clean little
doll when we purchased her. If you will
notice, her little original dress still
has the original elastic in the sleeves.
We did not have to replace them. No
rips or seam splits that we could find and
bright colors as we cleaned the dress and
pressed it. Her original socks has
no holes and her Ideal shoes are in good
condition. It took me a little while
to even discover that the strap on the
right shoe was sewn to reinforced the hole
so the shoe can be fastened. That
gave me an idea instead of gluing as we
have done before and crossed our fingers
that it would hold on a few of our dolls
in the past.
We kept her almost entirely
original except for the eye shadow and
blushing only on her hands and knees.
Her face blushing is original. Her eyes
tend to mesmerize me as I see them.
It looks almost as though the shadow is
too dark, but actually that is not the
case. Her lashes are gorgeous.
The flash brings out their real color and
they look almost red but they are dark
auburn, making her eyes appear larger.
Her walking mechanism has
been completely taken apart and restored
as only Dr. Hubby can do. She is a perfect
walking doll. Her body is soft looking
because of his light sanding of her
plastic. There is a seam split only
in the couch and he put new plastic
compound on the inside of her in that are
and now that seam is stronger then ever.
(A photo of that repaired seam split is
available upon request.) Other than
that, she is whole a gorgeous.
Her hair as you can see has
her original shine and braids from what we
can see. Her hair is clean and
smells good. Her bangs were cut by a
child and this is the way so many of them
come to us with. We think they look
great. We chose to attach the pink bows at
the top of her braid as I have seen in an
original 50'd photo that is the way Ideal
did so many of their dolls. The bows
are stiffened for display for many years.
If you prefer to display her in a case
with the original look, we have included
the white bows along with all of her
original clothing and shoes and socks.
We attached tiny little doll brown bobbie
pins to those white bows for you to place
them anywhere.
Her eyes are still factory
clamped which is an added value. We
polished them and also, as always, added
our little platforms inside her head to
help prevent any rolling and sinking of
the eyes as these Saucy Walkers are so
famous in doing so. (Just don't drop her
on her head on concrete or a hard
surface.)
Her new dress is adorable
in the real. Photos do this doll no
justice. Lois (toniwear@aol.com)went
out of her way on this dress. The dress is
made from vintage voile and so delicate
looking. She has made it with the
rose material on top, then an attached
light pink voile, then a pink satin
attached slip. What got me by surprise was
that she had also layers the cap sleeves.
How precious is that? We put a new
Onesie on her under all that with an
attached netting and lace petticoat to
give the dress that extra little girl
fluff. Lois also made the socks and
we decided the pink bows looked cute on
the front as you can see in the photo.
Her shoes are of good quality and
the roses on them match the theme.
As
we said above the photos her new Kaiser
stand comes with her. We love the
vinyl display cases that you can find at:
http://dollsparts.com/spgm.cfm?dpt=H&srch=DD&item=46000
and if you do make sure you purchase the
24" size. We have found that we
do not like the stand wire in those cases
but you can keep her on the stand we
provide inside the case just as well.
On the Kaiser stand the dress does not get
pushed down as it will do with the wire
that comes with the display cases. Just
and idea I thought I would add for you to
consider.
She
is beautiful in the photos and in the real
and very worth any consideration.
Thank you for your interest and God Bless!
