DESCRIPTION:
Another
adorable face. She has been restored and cleaned
from top to bottom.. First shampooed her hair and
noticed that the thread on the wig is holding quite
well. The braids were factory and so were the Banana
Bangs. Although her braids look short, we had no
indication that a child had cut the hair. From all the
Saucy Walker's we have seen not all had original long
braids. I have run into factory styled hair on a
few Saucy Walker's with shorter triple braids from the
factory. Love how they did it but I don't seem to
know how to do it that way. Her hair still has
some of the original plastic shine to it. Brand new bows
and we have stiffened them for display for many years to
come.
We
then repaired the beautiful eyes and saw that they were
so clean and without scratches that we can see
even. We polished them anyway and did notice that
her lashes have not been cut by a child but appear
shorter. When we saw the inside of the socket that
holds the lashes we then understood why. Someone
at the factory must have had a bad weekend. The
lashes are long but were glued too high inside the
socket. Hey, If it was factory done, there ya
go..valuable for goofs from the factory, one of a kind
type thing. We, as we do now on all of our dolls,
added our preventative platforms and other techniques to
help prevent eye rolling and sinking. Now if she
is dropped at all on a hard surface, I do not have any
idea if the eyes will survive a hard blow. In the
past most have that we have accidentally dropped. Very
few of course but we were proud to know our technique
works.
Her
walking mechanism was very clicky and so very
stiff. So I saturated the metal with Heavy
Silicone spray everywhere inside of her and then began
our normal procedure of working her legs back and
forth. When her head was off it was better to work
the legs back and forth very fast and for about five
minutes straight. I suggest to any collector to do
that, (of course don't remove the head...go slow) when
the doll gets stiff from being stored or in
display. Like a car...gotta drive um! So now
she can walk with a click here and there and a tendency
to kick...Just remember to lean her from side to side
slightly as you walk her. Her arms and head have been
re-strung tightly with our Elastic Cord Tubing and all
one has to do is hold her by her arm to walk her.
Her
Crier Works!! We consider all Saucy Dolls
that come through here, if their crier works then that
is part of the value. Rare is valuable and she
is. So much so that we did not change out her body
because of the seam split on her right leg, we put
plastic compound in it, glued it first of course, then
painted the seam with our Saucy Oil blended paint. So
that is all of her flaws which are so little compared to
so many. Her shorter lashes and her seam split.
Other than those things she is a great little Saucy.
Her
clothing is replica that she has on and I am so
impressed with the seamstress work that was done.
I love the little dress and pinafore and the Onesie
looks great as well. We have added a vintage safety pin
from Spain that is gold plated over Sterling Silver...Guaranteed
not to rust. We also added a petticoat by the same
seamstress. She has tagged the dress. Her
other dress is original and other than the relaxed
elastic in the sleeves the dress is in excellent
condition with an attached cotton slip. Her shoes
are original from Ideal.
Her
shoes and socks that she has on of course are new as
well and wonderful. I love the girlie look on
these dolls. You can replace the shoes of course
with her Ideal shoes but I sometimes cannot resist
putting new shoes and socks with the new replica
outfits. The little brand new "Wizard Of
Oz" book is still in it's wrapper and it is also
included along with her brand new Kaiser Doll Stand and
her replica hang tag. I remember the "Wizard Of
Oz" movie as I hung onto my own Saucy those many
years ago.
Please
ask us questions if you should have any. God Bless
