Madame Alexander "Elise" Bride Doll #1735 1960

MME Alexander (On Body)

Our Dolls Are Intended For Display.

UPDATE: Since the below photos were taken we completely cleaned her face with our special solution.  All of the darkness came off but a strip on her left side.  It is lighter than it was and in the real unless you look close it is not that noticeable unless it is pointed out.  Her blushing is also gone and we can replace it but this type doll is not what we want to spend more time on.   We will leave the blushing up to her new owner.  You may want to try again to remove the small amount of darkness before you apply the blushing anyway.  We have added a pair of cute pink panty hose knowing full well that there was no panty hose on these dolls.  We added them to be kind until her new owner can replace them. All else that she has on is original except for her corsage ribbons.  The flowers are original.  We also have completely remade her original shoes as we show in these first few photos of her in our office when we decided to go ahead and sell her now. Here they are:

DESCRIPTION

According to Linda Crowseys Madame Alexander's Doll book her value is between $525.00 - $1,100.00.  Please see an image from her book below.  Her books are available on Ebay and Amazon.

This doll came to use with all she is suppose to have except a corsage, hosiery, original box and hang tags.  I am not yet sure about her bra.  In our restoration of her clothing we added and made to fit a vintage bra of that same time period.  It has been cleaned from a personal doll of my own, however the photos make it look dingy.  We did not have hose and still do not know if she was suppose to have them.

Her shoes are very much her original and you can see in her Nude photos the original elastic that was on them.  I say "Was on them" because they are now in a separate plastic sealed bag for you to have and not on the shoes.  We almost went more insane than we are as she constantly was falling off of the little and very high "High Heels"  They are in excellent condition but the elastic was so stretched out, the shoes would not stay in her... so we added on top of the original a strip shaped to fit Velcro and new white elastic.  You can replace our effort with the original elastic if you need to.  We also put Velcro on the bottom of the heels to make her stationery.  It is not a good idea to have your expensive doll fall off of her doll stand from time to time.

Her hair is beautiful and is weaved like Madame Alexander's doll wigs are normally on top.  I noticed the bottom row of stitching on her neck is missing a few strands of hair but that in no way prevented us from working her hair into the elegant do that she has now.  Her veil is nice and the flowers are the original  All clothing has been cleaned and pressed.  I am hoping that you realize that this doll is 49 years old and I stand amazed that she is still in this wonderful condition.

Her body is completely re-strung with our Elastic Cord (Large) tubing.  Her stringing is tight, however, as you notice, we have posed her head in very nice poses, we get that ability by slacking the head stringing a tiny bit. Her face and arms are vinyl and are colored the same.

Her little feet are jointed and I am not sure about this but it looks as if a teeny area of her two right toes have had a tiny hot whatever on them to melt the vinyl.  I barely noticed it until I had the battle with her shoes. The toes are still very much there.  I did not even take a photo of them because you just cannot see them that well...I have reduced the asking price to cover these little flaws.

Her dress is as well made as any expensive wedding gown is today, I stand amazed.  Everything is lines...No spots or tears except age fading here and there.  I also noticed on her left shoulder area in the front that you may need to tack the lace under the strap are a the top.  You can see it in the photos.  Other than that, the dress is old but in good condition.  The petticoat's elastic waist band has loosened with age like the shoes elastic did, so I took white string thread an gathered it at the waist to keep the petticoat on her in display.  I knew that the new owner would not want that original elastic replaced.  Her panties are in wonderful condition. All is satin except the petticoat.  Nice Petticoat.

My favorite is her ring...Wow, tiniest little ring I have ever had the pleasure of playing with as I cleaned it, not rusty, not scratched, looks brand new.

She comes to you with everything you see on her including her new doll stand with a Velcro mat to keep her stabilized.  We will ship her in our 26X13X11 inch doll box with lid and ribbons in plain sight on the outside of the box to make it appear as a gift.
