Danbury Mint Early 1980's Prince Charles and Princess
Diana Dolls
Royal
Wedding in 1981.
DESCRIPTION:
Only a selected few places offer both dolls
together as a couple from what I have seen so far. This restoration has been
fun. Neither dolls were in bad shape at all.
Prince Charles was still wrapped in his original plastic
around his hands, feet, sword, doll stand , etc.
He had never been unwrapped. Diana was fine as
well but the restoration on her included soaking her
gown, train, veil, and panties over night to get them
closer to the very light crème color. She also
had two orange spots on her dress that are now
gone. I am not certain but I think she is the only
one available for sale that has been restored in this
way so to us, she is like new. Her panties elastic
was loosened so we added an addition elastic to them and
the petticoat as well. We also reformed her crown
and re-attached it back to her head with straight pins
into her scalp that is cloth and sewn with white string
which is stronger than thread.. From what we can
see not one sequence or bead is missing.
Her hair is wonderful and it was fun to
comb it back to her style. We spent many, many hours
restoring her to like new very carefully. These dolls
represent History and would be a very attractive
conversational display and wonderful to pass on to
future generations. Their boxes are in very good
condition and both are white with Their proper
Description printed on the top of each box. Signature
tissue paper inside is still in tact. The only
thing that the Diana doll is missing is her Certificate
Of Authentication. The Charles doll has his.
