Patricia's 22" Saucy Walker Childhood Doll by: Ideal Toy Corp.

This little 22" Ideal Saucy Walker doll will be getting ready for a September wedding occasion soon at Patricia's home. Her dress is a replica creation by Lois in the blue taffata with white pinafore.  What a beauty she is.

RESTORATION
Notice rusty nails that were inserted into the eyes in a previous restoration before us.  Gone Now. Ha!  Preparing to take the eyes apart and polish them and re-pair them back to like new.

---->Notice her hair how neat and all ready to have the stiffened bows at the top of her braids one day soon.  The bangs had been cut but we managed to get them into a banana roll and used her original hair pins also. Lips repainted and leveled out on bottom lip. Teeth glued in better.  Again I have never seen a 22" Ideal Saucy with a felt tongue.  Hum? Factory must have run out of the plastic ones?

We could not believe what we found from a previous restoration on this doll when her head was off.  Someone had taken the wig off the top at the seam and made two holes in her plastic head and glued the wig seam back on crooked.  They wove material covered elastic down inside the head to attach the head to the torso.  We could not keep from laughing at this discovery.  Gone Now!!  All the while all they had to have done was to attach the elastic to the bar that is purposed for attaching the head.  Go Figure!

Soon she will have perfect cheeks and eye shadow. Eye lids will be airbrushed like new on her eyes...top left photo.

As DR. Hubby Begins On your "Saucy" This doll also has the technique that not all the 22" Saucy Walkers have.  When you go to move her legs to a sitting position you push the legs inward toward the middle (towards the other leg) to guide the metal rod on top of each leg out of the plastic slot they are resting in to stablize her as she stands.  Great technique.  Keeps her from falling forward when standing.

Today the eye socket metal globes will be air brushed as you can see they are scratched from age. What a beautiful difference it will make.  Her lil eyes will look new.  Her eyeballs that fit inside these metal globes have already been polished and sparkle. The white paper protects the lashes from the paint.  As I said before the nails are gone and the string in her head has been removed.  Her face pimple will be gone and her blushing and eye shadow done today or tomorrow. No more sending her to other restoration people who do not understand about the Ideal Saucy Walkers? Promise?  giggle Dr. Hubby last weekend found a crack in the upper leg.  This now will be sanded down flush and last forever. Dr. Hubby works here in the shop on Sat. and Sundays..  It is now looking like we will have her ready for her dress this next week after all. Once she is finished by us, we will take her photo nude front and back so you can see how new she will look.  Maybe if Lois can get her dress to us, it may be Christmas in July? Your Baby will reflect what she looked like when you first get her by the time we finish. I love working on the 22" SW dolls!  This one is a challenge for sure.
She walks like a dream. Body is very soft looking, Blushing is perfect on hands and knees. Arms strung with Surgical Elastic cord tubing tightly as you can see arms are up. Temp Shoes on her feet to hold her on her new stand.  Photos taken at night without flash, colors are not as in the real.. Yuk. Lil crack is re-enforced on back shoulder with new plastic. Will show in finishing photos. Dr. Hubby told me that pimple was actually a little hole in her face.  Camera Flash used at night. Base make-up air brushed on.  Blushing on cheeks is next after eye lids are air brushed and eye in this week. This baby needs her original tiny red dots in the corner of her eyes. See our other original Ideal SW dolls on our site. Some have them, some we forgot to add when we noticed them missing. All Ideal Saucy Walkers came with them to keep eyes from looking crossed at a distance.  http://saucywalkerscorner.com/SALE-45/SALE-45-7.jpg
A little stage trick done in the 50's.  I use to be on stage and got red make-up in the corner of my eyes all the time.  (I felt stupid)  Christmas in July is looking like a deal now possibly? Little more eyes shadow on left eye at the corner needed. Baby 22" SW has a felt tongue.  Rare. Lips re-painted and teeth re-attached to inside top of mouth. No more sagging bottom painted lip as in Before photos. No more nails in now polished eyes and no more string attached to holes in top of head.  NOTE:  You will be getting this new Kaiser Stand but I would go here to purchase her a vinyl display case one day.  I have no affiliation money wise with them.  Just suggest all Saucy Walkers have them in display.  Use the stand inside the case instead of the wire that comes with the case.  This Kaiser stand allows for better posing. SIZE 24"

Head is just sitting on her finished body.  Eyes will be next.  She is standing on the box Lois sent with her gorgeous dress inside and shoes. Her cheeks and eye shadow done and drying.  Not long now.  Her hair looks dark at night under the plastic.  Can always tell she is yours by that felt tongue.  No other SW we have has one. HA!  The cheeks always look more red in photo images.  Even in the doll books.  Never have figured that out.
