Dear Sheryl,

Saucy arrived home today from her travels. My, my, that's the longest trip she ever took!! I exercised a lot of patience on opening the pretty box (bet that's the nicest box our postman has ever delivered). You won't believe this, but when I opened the box and saw how perfectly she was packed, I put the lid back on so I could show my husband and have him here when I unpacked her. He was amazed that even the sleeves were stuffed.

She is just perfect!! Who would have ever thought those bangs would have turned out so cute! Thank you for sticking with them. The dress is just like new, as are the shoes, socks, and onesie. I love the blue ribbons. She walks well, but I had to learn to walk her again. It's been so long that I had almost forgotten the technique.

And one more thing that I haven't mentioned (nor have you). Now, she doesn't smell!! It must have been the long years in the attic in hot Southern conditions. Seems like there was this yukky rubber smell on her body, her clothes, etc. You were kind not to mention her "body odor." Ha!

Where on earth did you get the little tag with all the Saucy information? It was such fun to read.

At present, she is sitting up high until I see how my mischievous cat reacts to her. Puff is notorious for chewing on things, and I want to make sure Saucy's hair doesn't look attractive to her. Do you have cats or dogs? I have 3 cats, and one of them was most interested in the box. Figured there must be an animal at your house.

Please especially thank your husband. I know you get all the e-mails, but I can't forget that he's the behind-the-scenes person who puts in lots of hours and gets all the mechanics working again. What special people you both are!! It's so nice to know that there are still businesses out there that take pride in their work and do it with TLC.

Saucy says "Hi" to you both. Says you all are wonderful new friends, but that she's glad to be back home, too. She says she feels like a new little girl!! (And so do I.)

Love,

Cheryl

The dress is bright and gorgeous and the blue shoes match the pale blue in the dress so we have decided to use the blue shoes in her finishing photos.  The white shoes have been patchede with another piece of vinyl that we had on hand and the strap glued.  Best just to use the pink and white shoes for display.

She will be all original and valuable when we finally finish.  The out come will be worth the wait.  God Bless.

She now has her eye repair and preventative platforms installed to prevent sinking and crossing.

"See my curlers Mommy!!"

She has a plastic wrap to keep her hair fresh. Preparing for walking mechanism work and cleaning.  Arms are in a separate marked bag waiting in line also.  Wonder why little butt is covered..Hum? hahaha
A perfect rounded arm hole There is no seam stress. What caused this split was the misaligned arm hole platform caused by the body being too hot and warping. That side protrudes out more than the other side. He is holding the alignment in place manually.  Armhole is a little more of an oval shape when the platforms are not lined up.  Arm will tend to hit her side when re-strung because the body has been warped from heat.  Patching the seam will be done with a plastic compound then painted. New Finding: This leg has been patched by someone else before us.  The patching has a gapping seam instead of flush together and causing the metal rod to bend. To prevent extra charges, Dr. Hubby will work around the imperfect patch and do all he can to make her walk better than she did. Unless the patch is re-worked by Dr. Hubby, we cannot offer a perfect walker.

Here she is, her head strung to our spare parts body that we have so I could finish her hair. Isn't she a little dream?  In the real her bangs look better than the photos show.  We are working late Friday night and need the flash on the camera. Her eyes are so alive and all preventative platforms in place to prevent future damage as long as she is not dropped on a hard surface. (Actually even then I have seen the eyes hold up to the drop as I have done it with one of our own before...patting self on back nowWe received your check and note and Dr. Hubby is in his surgery office working away on that leg boo boo that your Dad had patched.  He started on it then he saw a thin seam split on her leg and he has it glued and clamped to dry right now.  He is trying so hard not to use the white compound on arms and legs (except the patching on her torso under arm that needs it) just to have to turn around and paint over it so he used clear glue.  He will sand the leg when it dries and not paint it.  We know you want her as original as possible. Once the seam on the leg dries then the patch at the top will be re-repaired to help prevent the bending of the thin metal rod.
