Lyn Coody's Little 16" Saucy Walker Doll
by: Ideal Toy Corp. "Lyndi Lu" Restored
One Month after she passed (June 8, 2010)
This little doll was owned by Marcia's sister,
Lyn Coody of Oklahoma. Lyn
passed on June 8th, 2010. Marcia wants this doll
display ready to remind her of their childhood days
while playing with the dolls. "We decided to name the doll
"Lyndi Lu". Lucy for the Peanuts character which
reminded us of Lyn when she was younger. She had a big Lucy banner in her
bedroom for many years when we were growing up." The
Christmas Lyn received this doll, her sister Marcia
received her Chatty Cathy Doll as seen in a photo
below. Our condolences go
out to Marcia and our prayer is that we can make this
doll look brand-new again as in God, nothing is
impossible.

I'm attaching the only photo we have of Lyn and the doll (she's on the left
and I'm on the right). It was the Christmas she received it. I got my
Chatty Cathy that year.
Sheryl, She is gorgeous! Thank you so much. I can't wait to hold her and find a place for her to hang out in our house. This has been so healing for me.

Lyn never met a stranger. When she went to the store or anywhere, she
talked to strangers. She loved studying the Bible and was involved in Bible
studies for many years. She had a ministry of making prayer shawls. She
had her Bible study group pray over her yarn before she made it, then would
pray for whomever was going to receive it as she crocheted. She was an
encourager. If she told you she would be praying for you, you knew she
would be praying. |

Even though I didn't know Lyn well "way back when", looking at this made me
very teary. Was very interested in the process and the restorer's
comments. What an incredible job! It just reminded me of how much God wants
to restore us now and that eventually we will be restored to even better
than new! Thank you so much for sharing!

What a wonderful and creative way to remember Lyn through her doll !
If you don't have a plan for the doll's debut, I would love to host a tea party for
her. Once again, what a loving, creative way to remember Lyn.
Peace, Hope and Love,
Linda

How awesome! It reminds me so much of God's grace in his restoration of us,
taking what is old and broken and making like new.

Hello, I had to write after reading your comments regarding the repair work for Marcia Leys sister's doll, Lyn
Coody. (Marcia had forwarded this for her friends to see) As you spoke of Lyn's spirit guiding you about the 'nose dots'... and your own mother's loss also, I cried again for our loss of Lyn. Lyn and I were best friends since we were 5 years old. We walked to kindergarten together and walked as friends ever since. I miss her dearly. So seeing this doll of hers is a real treat! I only wish I remembered her and her name, but sadly do not. Thank you for restoring part of Lyn for all her family and host of friends. You truly have a great talent! God Bless you and the work of your hands!
Sincerely,
Anita J Lee |
