We rounded the warped right eye the best we could. We used a plastic compound to secure the eye to the metal hanger inside the back. Her eye was also badly scratched so we applied our magic and shined it.  We also painted her scratched eye lids.

We finally got the eyes in after a few hours of fighting with her warped head. Because of it, her left eye has a tiny gap of space on the side of the eye while in the eye opening.  We applied preventative plastic and sponge pieces inside to keep her eyes from sinking. (unless she is dropped)  Her lids need another dab of paint as they were rubbed during the process. We will do that later.

Wow....we finally re-attached the rod for her head that turns when she walks perfectly now. Dr. Hubby made a new neck plate.  Our surprise was to find out that her hips are actually suppose to look this way.  I have not seen a doll like this before but on the other hand I have never seen a Rita this large before and she may be a rare one.  The arms were sanded down and because they had already been repainted long before we got her the paint was already peeling off of her. We cannot bare to let her look like this in her final photos so we are going to donate the Air Brush painting of this doll as our gift.  Wow, she is going to not only walk like new but look it as well.  Hang in there, time makes all things perfect...you'll see.

11-09-09 - Knees and the back of her hands have now been blushed and are not showing in the photo above.  Below is her new facial blushing and eye shadow. Cheeks always look brighter in the photos than in the real.

I could not resist showing her to you without her make-up on.  Even thou she is gorgeous without it we still need to put it on and boy oh boy she will shine like a new doll.  No longer possessed like she appeared at first.  I want to put the red double sided satin bows in her hair at the top to widen the look of her since he is so tall and straight.  The hair is so soft and gorgeous and personally, I think since she is so differently made from your other dolls, she will stand out as a beauty.  The hair in pigtails helps to make her look wider instead of so out of proportion with such a long torso.  With those red shiny satin bows and possible her new fluffy dress.  OMG! To me she wil be the prettiest Rita doll I have ever seen. (Once her make-up is re-applied as well) Her body surface could not be more new looking.  She is so perfect looking I hate touching her. hahaha  As we found, those hips were designed that way, you can tell by the factory construction on the inside of her.  She is a rare doll and I think her final appearance should reveal it. What a gorgeous attraction she will be in your collection.  I betcha that she will bring much attention with her hair in pigtails like this instead of skinny braids. Motice the little red roses on her lace socks.
